Walking the Breakwater

Marine Traffic and Lighthouse Views

Cautionary Note
A few meters from the lighthouse, a metal gate with stairs provides access to the lower level. Exercise caution, as wet conditions and unpredictable elements can make the cement blocks slippery. Walking along the lower level is at your own risk.

Driving Directions
Situated southwest of downtown Victoria in the James Bay area, Ogden Point Breakwater is easily accessible by car. Follow Belleville Street in front of the Legislature, winding through the neighborhood until you reach Dallas Road. Park along the water after passing the cruise ship terminal parking area.
Public Transportation
If opting for public transportation, take Bus #31: James Bay from downtown. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes, and you can disembark when you spot the water from Dallas Road. Alternatively, enjoy a 25-minute walk from the Legislature building to Ogden Point.
